professional development opportunities. We know
that every district has unique professional develop-
ment needs andwework closely with school dis-
tricts to provide customized sessions in the areas of
Spanish as aWorld Language, Spanish for heritage
and native speakers, bilingual/dual-language educa-
tion, andmeeting the needs of English Language
Learners. We also offer pedagogical sessions that
focus on first and second language acquisition
theory and practice, applied linguistics, methods of
teaching reading in a second language, and other
key topics that assist in the professional develop-
ment of highly qualified K–12 Spanish and ESL/ELD
teachers.
