CRITICAL THINKING
•
The detective and his assistant need to
solve the crime, but they have to use their
interrogation skills to interview potential
witnesses and suspects. Ask students to
think of the three most important questions
that need to be asked and the three key
witnesses/suspects who need to be
interviewed to solve this case. Have students
also think about what other techniques
are available due to the advancements in
technology and how they can be used to
solve the crime.
HERITAGE LANGUAGE LEARNERS
•
Have students use the Internet to find
the two most famous theaters from their
country of origin. Then ask them to write five
comparisons and superlatives based on the
information they found and the information
presented on this page. Students may talk
about the exterior and/or the interior of the
theaters and some of the types of theatrical
acts presented there. Ask volunteers to share
their sentences with the class.

Ask students to work with their partners and
create a dialogue in which one will play the
suspect, and the other, the detective. The
suspect must answer the detective’s questions
about his or her whereabouts at the time of the
crime. It will be up to the detective to make an
arrest or not, but it must be justified.

Call on volunteers to role-play Michelle and
Daniel’s comic in front of the class. Ask
students to vote on the most likely suspect
and justify their choice.
