Goals of the Program Needs of Students in ONE-WAY: Spanish Student Programs Benefits of the Program Like all dual language programs, the main goal is for students to acquire language proficiency and academic success in Spanish (or other target language) and English through content and culture. Language proficiency: At the end of elementary school, students will be able to listen, speak, read, write in both Spanish and English. Academic acheivement: In addition to their language abilities, students will be able to show mastery in all academic content subject areas (Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies) in both languages.
