Discuss the role of fans at an athletic event.
Explain that when people try to make healthy
changes in real life, they need supporters,
too. Next, review the directions with students.
Check that they understand the steps and
the order in which they are to be completed.
Cut out a large triangular pennant shape, and
have students use the shape as a pattern for
their own triangles. Allow students to create
pennants with a partner.

Have students create a short chant or cheer
using the words on their pennant. Invite
students to present their pennants to the class.
First, students should use the key words to
tell the steps they followed to make the flag.
Then, students can demonstrate the use of the
pennant by waving it while reciting their cheer.
