UMMARY
This book introduces the reader to ten animals unique to South America and whose existence is
endangered by the loss of their habitat, hunting, tree felling, and pollution. In each story, a different
animal has a life-threatening experience due to these problems. However, there is hope that
knowledge of these animals and awareness of their uncertain future will prompt humans into action
to save and protect them.
